About Us

Parity Lab is a global social enterprise transforming how the world prevents gender-based harm. Since 2021, we’ve built the skills and leadership capacity people need to create safer communities, through relationship literacy for young people and trauma-informed leadership for those already working for change. Our healing-centered work has equipped 200+ survivor and ally leaders across 9+ countries to launch and institutionalize prevention initiatives, collectively impacting 100,000+ people worldwide and contributing to the prevention of 3,000+ child marriages. Through Project Greenlight, we’re taking prevention earlier, equipping young people with practical tools to understand relationships, boundaries, emotional safety, trust, and conflict before harmful patterns take root.

Two pathways. One goal:
healthier relationships, stronger leaders, and safer communities.

Our Approach: From Learning to Lasting Change

We believe prevention has to start earlier, and go deeper. Gender-based harm doesn't begin with a single incident. It is shaped by the relationships, beliefs, emotional patterns, power dynamics, and systems around us.We believe safer communities are built when people have the knowledge, tools, and leadership capacity to create change in their own lives, relationships, and communities.

1. AWARENESS
Help people understand trauma, relationships, gender, and the patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others.

2. BUILD CAPACITY
Equip people with practical tools to strengthen emotional wellbeing, navigate relationships, and lead with greater self-awareness, empathy, and resilience.

3. BRING CHANGE
Support people to turn what they learn into action, within their own relationships, communities and institutions, therefore, creating safer environments that can sustain change over time.

“Systems capture my attention. People carry histories. How systems have molded me right from boarding school which was like a boot camp. I even carry that up to today.”

Miriam Wangari Wachira

“When we joined the fellowship, we thought that Parity Lab would give us answers, but instead, this journey taught us how to find answers ourselves. It gave us strength to believe in ourselves and our creativity.”

Neelam Besra, Chairperson and Human Rights Defender

“The mental wellness sessions at Parity Lab didn’t just impact my personal life—they transformed the way I work. For instance, I used to wonder why a woman in my meetings never spoke, but after learning how to truly hold space, I was able to help her open up and understand her own challenges. That moment reaffirmed the power of trauma-informed leadership.”
